The Amazon Echo Dot Gen 5 is launched in India and it packs better audio, an ultrasound motion detection sensor, a temperature sensor and tap gesture controls.

Amazon also ensures that the device has up to double the bass of its previous generations. Its redesigned audio architecture features a custom full-range driver within the same size and spherical form factor.

And you can use the in-built temperature sensor to set up smart home routines like automatically turning on compatible AC when it gets too warm inside or turning it off when it gets too cold. Plus, you can use your voice and command Alexa in English, Hindi or a mix of both the languages to play music, jokes, control smart home appliances and the rest of the things Alexa is capable of.

The  Echo Dot Gen 5 also has an accelerometer that enables tap gesture controls, so you can simply tap the top of the device to pause and resume music, dismiss timers, or end Alexa-to-Alexa calls, something that doesn’t work with fellow humans. The smart speaker comes for ₹5,499 and will be available in three colour variants: Black, Blue, and White.
