Audi is working closely with Verizon in the USA to bring 5G connectivity in the 2024 lineup of their cars. This means better software performance, improved navigation, no more streaming woes for music and videos.
Apart from that, it is also a big step forward in terms of V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication technology which enhances safety and overall drive quality. The possibility of 5G will also enable new driver-assist features and connectivity-enabled innovations for the industry. The V2V tech not only enables cars to communicate with each other on specified bands of Wi-Fi, they can communicate with infrastructure too, such as traffic lights and even your phone.
When will the tech trickle down to Indian roads is yet to be seen, but we wish it is here along the same timelines.
