It’s a big day for the Indian Automotive industry and there’s a lot to ogle at thanks to the Auto Expo 2023. One of the attention grabbers at the Expo was the showcase of the Ioniq 6 EV sedan which made its way to India 6 months after its global unveiling. The Ioniq 6 comes with the brand’s E-GMP skateboard architecture that has previously been seen on the Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

So what does this EV pack on in terms of raw performance? Available with two battery size options – the entry-level 53kWh and the larger 77kWh, the Ioniq 6 comes with a single-motor RWD setup as standard, with higher variants having a dual-motor AWD option as well. Similar to the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 produces 320 horsepower and 605 Nm with a dual-motor setup, while 228 horsepower and 350 Nm are produced with an RWD setup. In terms of the WLTP-certified range, the Ioniq 6 can travel up to 429km in the RWD 53kWh configuration, up to a whopping 614km in the 77.4kWh configuration, and up to 583km in the AWD configuration.

But here’s where we at Stuff get truly invested. On the inside, the two 12-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster, are what catch the eye here. The Ioniq 6 is positioned more driver-centrically than the Ioniq 5. The "EV Performance tune-up," which enables the driver to set several drive mode configurations for different circumstances, is one of its additional driver-focused features. The interior of the Ioniq 6 is finished with several environmentally friendly materials, including faux leather coloured with flaxseed.

Furthermore, Hyundai also has its connected car tech, ADAS tech and future mobility services on display at the expo, so do have a glance at it if you manage to make your way there!
