Designed to conquer tough terrains, the 5-door Maruti Jimny has finally made its global debut at the Auto Expo 2023. The off-road machine that has been in discussion for the past several years will be sold via the brand’s Nexa outlet.
The car comes in two trims: Zeta and Alpha and an array of colour options: five monotone colours and two dual-tone shades. It is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm.
There are two transmission options for the Jimny either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic version. Four-wheel drive comes as standard and a low-range transfer case is also available.
As for features, Maruti’s rugged SUV has a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, keyless entry, cruise control, power windows, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Plus, there are six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control along with hill-hold and hill-descent control. The car is expected to be priced around ₹12,00,000-₹15,00,000.
