If you are into mobile gaming, you have most definitely heard of the Backbone One mobile controller. Well, the company has teamed up with Sony to take the logical next step – The Backbone One PlayStation Edition. This officially licensed mobile controller for Apple iPhone users. It has the look of a PlayStation product with a colour scheme inspired by the DualSense wireless controller of the PS5. It even has transparent face buttons and a visually distinctive, floating appearance.
All you need to operate the device is access to the internet and a PS5 or PS4 console. Just plug in an iPhone to the Backbone One and instantly get down to business on your PS5 and PS4 games thanks to the PS Remote Play app. So, now when you are tired of staring at your big screen from the couch, you can go take a walk while continuing your game on your little screen. It’s primarily for game streaming from the cloud but that sort of freedom is not available in India at the moment.
Backbone One also works with App Store games and other gaming services that support controllers like Genshin Impact, Fantasian, Call of Duty: Mobile, and more. You can download the Backbone App and enjoy a more customized PlayStation experience if you like. Inside this app, you’ll find various PlayStation integrations, like custom glyphs and the ability to browse your game titles in one place. There will also be a dedicated row inside the app with the latest releases and updates from PlayStation.
The Backbone One works on your iPhone’s battery so you don’t have to worry about charging it. The device is priced at $99.99 (roughly ₹8,000) but hasn’t made its way to India just yet, so stay tuned for updates.
