The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has been unveiled by the Indian automobile maker at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking the launch of the manufacturer's much-awaited foray into the electric vehicle space. The e Vitara is being marketed as an electric SUV, and is built on a new EV platform called Heartect-e. The new car will come in two battery capacity variants - 49kWh and 61kWh - with a promise of driving range upwards of 500km per charge. The EV will have a single motor, with a single-speed electric drive transmission.

In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to be a premium offering, with an integrated display system with a twin-deck floating console (10.1-inch and 10.25-inch displays), 10-way power adjustable driver's seat, Infinity by Harman sound system, and Suzuki Connect. For safety, the car will have seven airbags and Level 2 ADAS features. The vehicle will be available in the above mentioned two battery options, along with 10 colour options which includes four dual-tone options.
Maruti Suzuki will also launch the 'e for me' app to assist owners in locating public car charging infrastructure, and has also committed to upgrading 1500 service outlets in 1000 cities across India to support its current and upcoming lineup of electric vehicles. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is being made in India for domestic and over 100 global markets. The car is designed to work in varying environmental conditions ranging from -30 degrees C to 60 degrees C.
There is no info on pricing and availability as of now, but expect the e Vitara to go on sale in India this year itself.
