Italian jewellery and watchmaking house Bulgari has just dropped a timepiece that is not only super-exclusive, but will also leave its mark as being a world record holder. The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra is the world’s thinnest mechanical watch with a waist size of a mind boggling 1.8mm.
If you’re trying to imagine, the watch’s thickness is the same as two credit cards held flush together. Any slimmer, and it’d look spray-painted on your wrists. The 40mm sandblasted titanium case and strap look sophisticated, and so is the way the time is displayed.
The hours, minutes and seconds are displayed in three sub-dials with visible gears and cogs. Being as slim as it is, there’s no crown on the side edge. Instead, it comes with a custom-designed box that replenishes the power and regulates timekeeping.
A fourth large sub-dial that is basically a QR code holding a wealth of information – watchmaking videos, feature interviews, and a virtual 3D tour of the movement.
As mentioned, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra is exclusive AF, and only 10 units will ever be made. Needless to say, it is quite expensive, with an eye-watering price tag of $440,600 (approx ₹3.35 crore). Ohh and did we mention that each timepiece also comes with an original NFT artwork?
