Since the dawn of folding screens, brands have fought tooth and nail to showcase their iteration of foldable flawlessness for portable PCs. Which is to say, after Lenovo, it was Asus’ turn to turn the bendy OLED into something more useful than a pocketable smartphone.
The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED opens up into a sheet of 4:3 17.3in 2.5K touchscreen and folds down the middle to create two 3:2 12.5in FullHD displays. You can use it as a tablet, or a laptop with an on-screen keyboard or use the whole screen with a full-size Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad.
Troubled by the capabilities of Windows to keep up with the contortionist-ways of setting the Zenbook Fold? The Asus ScreenXpert 2 and an exclusive Mode Switcher app can take control of managing windows and rearranging the whole thing as swiftly as possible. We’ve seen it at work with the Zenbook Pro. It has all the Pantone and HDR calibrated features that are available on most premium Asus laptops.
There’s a 5MP IR camera with a light sensor to adjust brightness and all that. The Harman Kardon-certified speakers are packing Dolby Atmos support as well. Obviously, this is more than a proof of concept but with an Intel U-series 12th Gen processor sitting inside is not for professional work. Just an indulgence in technology.
