The device runs on the latest Windows 11 operating system and is fueled by the trusted AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, making it a worthy successor to the ROG Ally.

Although the CPU performance remains unchanged from its predecessor, Asus says the ROG Ally X features “an updated design for enhanced ergonomics, cooling, and connectivity”. The device tips the scales at 678 grams, a 70-gram increase from its predecessor.

The handheld comes with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage. And features a 7-inch full-HD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 7ms response time. The supports a peak brightness of 500 nits, 100% sRGB coverage, and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The ROG Ally X has a 2-speaker system, which features Dolby Atmos support and Smart Amplifier Technology. Additionally, it has AI noise cancellation and Smart Amp Tech. The handheld also comes equipped with an in-built array microphone and Hi-Res certification, which is activated when a headphone is connected.

In terms of power, the Ally X packs a larger 80Wh 4-cell Li-ion battery, providing a significant upgrade from the standard model, as per Asus. It supports rapid 65W charging via USB Type-C and offers a range of connectivity options, including a Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort support, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a UHS-II microSD card reader.
