Strong and hard to break: two words rarely used for glass but Corning is on a path to change this with their latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which apparently is much more sturdy and durable than its previous iterations.
The Victus 2 comes with improved scratch resistance and drop performance on rough surfaces like concrete. So the next time someone tells you their heart shattered like it was made of glass, introduce them to the Victus 2.
The brand claimed in lab tests the new Gorilla Glass survived drops of up to one meter on a surface replicating concrete. It even continued to survive drops up to two meters on an asphalt-like surface and maintained scratch resistance up to four times better than competitive aluminosilicate.
We don’t know which smartphones will feature the Victus 2 just yet but history says the upcoming Samsung S23 series might just have the Gorilla protection we need.
