DJI’s latest innovation, the Flip, reimagines what a vlog camera drone can do. Designed as an all-in-one vlog camera, you can toss the pocket-sized drone from your hand to launch, no remote needed, and catch it right back when you’re done. Its AI-powered Subject Tracking keeps your shots locked in and looking pro.
The Flip is completely foldable. Its full-coverage propeller guards are made from lightweight carbon fibre string, weighing 1/60 of traditional materials but remaining strong and durable, per DJI. These guards protect both the drone and its users, ensuring safe flights. Meanwhile, DJI’s 3D Infrared Sensing System provides automatic braking, even during night flights. The flip weighs 249g.
At the core of the DJI Flip is a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor that delivers 48MP photos. The camera’s f/1.7 aperture, Dual Native ISO Fusion, and 2.4μm 4-in-1 pixels work together to produce images, while a 4x zoom option allows you to get closer to the action without sacrificing quality. DJI says the SmartPhoto tech combines HDR imaging with scene recognition to ensure your shots look dynamic and ready to share straight out of the camera.
For video creators, the Flip shoots HDR video in 4K at 60fps. Need slow motion? The 4K/100fps mode has you covered, while the 10-bit D-Log M colour mode provides flexibility for post-production tweaks. The 4:3 aspect ratio sensor is tailored for smartphone and social media use, allowing vertical cropping — for creators who want polished, platform-ready content.
The DJI Flip also comes equipped with DJI O4 video transmission, offering a range of up to 13 km for 1080p/60fps live feeds. As per DJI, this ensures a clear view with minimal lag, even from afar, and its anti-interference tech keeps your connection steady.
The drone comes with six intelligent shooting modes—Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix, and Boomerang. For those looking to elevate their content, MasterShots automates complex camera movements and combines clips with music, effects, and transitions.
Creators can also experiment with Hyperlapse, offering Free, Circle, Course Lock, and Waypoint options for timelapse sequences. FocusTrack enhances subject tracking with features like ActiveTrack 4.0, Spotlight 2.0, and Point of Interest 3.0. For photography enthusiasts, the Panorama mode captures wide-angle, vertical, and 180° shots.

It is powered by an Intelligent Flight Battery that, as per DJI, delivers up to 31 minutes of flight time. Privacy-conscious users will appreciate the Local Data Mode, which protects data by disconnecting the drone from the internet.
For control, you’ve got options – pair it with the DJI RC-N3 or RC 2 remote controller for precision flying, use the DJI Fly app for streamlined operation, or go completely hands-free with Voice Control, making it as versatile as it is easy to use.
The DJI Flip is priced at $439 (approx. ₹37,900).
