This week has brought more than its fair share of dragons with HBO releasing the trailer for House of the Dragon yesterday. Well, it doesn't stop there… At the Sandiego Comic-Con (aka Nerdfest 2022), the public got what they asked for with the first trailer of the much-awaited Dungeons & Dragons movie. Officially titled Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the footage comes just a day after the first-look images of the cast were shared in an immersive tavern experience.
The film’s ensemble stars big names like Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. All of whom made an appearance at the Comic-Con panel. The film is produced by Jeremy Latcham and written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley who joined the cast onstage for the panel.
This action-packed, fantasy adventure film is based on the famous role-playing game of the same name. The initial footage teases a heist with elements of fantasy as one would expect.
Honor Among Thieves will be the fourth DnD movie, following in the footsteps of 2000’s Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God, and 2012’s direct-to-DVD Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God. This film will serve as a reboot of the series and shall be released in theatres on May 3rd, 2023. How good will it be… well, that’s all in the roll of the dice (the D20 of course).
