1,000 kilometres seems to be the new benchmark for EV brands, and after Mercedes-Benz’s range-busting EQXX, here’s another EV with a claimed 1,000km range. This one comes from Norwegian startup Fresco.
Called Fresco XL, it is essentially a people carrier with up to eight seats. While the exact details are still under wraps, the battery is said to be part of the main structure, and the cells will be double stacked for max storage capacity.
From what little has been revealed, the Fresco XL will have two motors, one on each axle. These motors are also said to be designed keeping in mind Norway’s harsh climate conditions.
It all still looks very concept-y at this stage, and in fact reminds us of Apple’s all-white Magic Mouse – but with LED lights. As mentioned, this vehicle can fit eight individuals, and the seats can all be folded down to convert it into a camper.
There’s no word on when Fresco plans to bring this large EV to the market. But it has started taking pre-orders with a €1,000 (approx ₹85,00) deposit, the Fresco XL’s cost is estimated to be at around €100,000 (approx ₹85,56,000).
