The G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-2000 might not have been forged in the fires of Mount Doom, but it still is the most extreme watch from Casio yet. This chunky timepiece has now waded through tough waters and reached our shores.
If it’s not clear by now, the GWG-2000 is meant to survive the toughest of outdoors, and is built using forged carbon. Casio says that this special type of carbon-fibre has greater tensile strength than stainless steel. This lightweight material is in fact used to build aircrafts and racing cars.
Casio is taking the mud, sand and shock resistance to another level. Take for instance the buttons, which have been replaced with what the company calls ‘mud resist’ buttons. These are fashioned from stainless steel pipes combined with an internal silicone buffer that both absorbs shock and forms a seal to keep particles safely out.
Built-in sensors onboard will keep you updated about the general direction, altitude, barometric pressure, and temperatures. It should come as no surprise that the watch can resist water at up to 200 metres, and temperatures as low as -10 degree celsius.
Needless to say, all these don’t come cheap. The G-Shock Mudmaster CWG-2000 has been launched in India with a price-tag of ₹59,995.
