When it comes to battery life, traditional smartwatches last as long as a Goldfish out of a bowl. But Garmin has built a reputation not just for lasting longer than a turtle but also making them sturdy. Their D2 Air aviator smartwatch gets a bit of an upgrade with the new X10 variant for 2022.
Besides the usual flight-specific features like automatic logging of flights, tracking etc, it also syncs with the Pilot app and flyGarmin enthusiast app. The big change with the X10 though is its inclusion of digital voice assistants in the form of Siri or Google, your choice. It will help you fly hands-free, in case your ride doesn’t have Auto Pilot. Texts, calling and the usual selection of mundane tasks that you can’t be using your fingers for.
The display now has an always-on option, which shouldn’t affect its week-long battery life. Music apps, fitness apps and the basic notifications that you expect from every wearable are on-board, making it useable both on-ground and in-flight.
