Technology when put to right use can do wonders! The evidence is Garmin’s new ECG App for its Venu 2 Plus smartwatch.
You can use the ECG App to record heart rhythm and check for signs of atrial fibrillation by conducting a 30-second ECG, and view the heart rhythm results on the watch, all from the comfort of your home.
The app is FDA approved and uses sensors on the Venu 2 Plus to record the electrical signals that control how the heart beats and analyzes the recording to detect signs of AFib.
Additionally, you can also sync the ECG App to the Garmin Connect app. The readings can then be accessed via the Connect app and you can also view the history of ECG results and create reports that can also be shared with your healthcare provider.
The service is available in the US as of now but we expect it to come to India soon, as the brand intends to expand its portfolio of products supporting the ECG App and launch it in new regions in-line with necessary regulatory approval.
