With the launch of the new Apple Watch Ultra, the spotlight is back on Garmin to see what they have in store to compete with the giant. And well, they have returned the favour by launching the new flagship smartwatch– The Venu 2 Plus. In addition to this, they have also launched the Venu 2 and 2S, because it’s a fair game of tit for tat, to compete with Apple's three new watches.
The flagship Venu 2 Plus comes with a 1.3 inch AMOLED display encased in a 43mm case. It comes with built-in GPS and integrated voice-calling features. The wearable gets support for a gamut of voice assistants including Siri, Google Assistant and Bixby, allowing you to respond to texts, control your smart home and decline calls. As we have grown to expect from Garmin, the watch comes with a robust set of health and fitness features. The concept behind the architecture of this watch is– ‘Dear Body - Work on A New Look’.
You can now receive key health stats via the built-in Health Snapshot which allows you to log a two-minute session to record key health stats, including heart rate, heart rate variability, Pulse Ox, respiration and stress. It then generates a report via the Garmin Connect app to monitor the statistics. Additionally, you can store up to 650 songs to keep you going through your workouts and it has 5ATM water resistance, so it isn't scared of taking a leap into the pond. Garmin claims the watch can give you nine days of battery life in smartwatch mode and 24 hours with GPS on. With the music on too, you get about eight hours. That said, the power saver mode does give you a good 10 days.
Venu 2 and Venu 2S on the other hand, offer 45 mm and 40mm cases with a 1.3in and 1.1 in AMOLED display, respectively. They do offer built-in GPS connectivity and are packed with advanced health monitoring and fitness features to keep you in touch with your body’s workings. The watches offer some new features in addition to the regular gamut of sports modes like HIIT, indoor climbing, bouldering and hiking. These watches bring a comprehensive list of health and fitness features too, like the health snapshot feature, Body battery energy monitoring, Pulse OX Sensor, Stress tracking, Women’s health tracking, Hydration tracking, Respiration tracking, sleep, stress and heart rate monitoring.
All models offer over 25 sports modes including, but not limited to walking, running, cycling, golf, Pilates, yoga, pool swimming and more. You can buy the Venu 2 Plus for ₹50,490 while the Venu 2 and 2S will set you back about ₹44,990.
