Lately, Garmin may have been in the news for all its
solar-powered smartwatches, but it certainly hasn’t forgotten about its fitness bands. After
recently launching it globally, the Garmin Vivosmart 5 has finally made it to our shores.
The sleek fitness tracker is meant for those who find smartwatches bulky and uncomfortable to wear all day. The overall design of the tracker is similar to its predecessor, albeit with a 66% larger touchscreen display. The bigger screen however doesn’t seem to have a major impact on the battery life, as Garmin claims you’ll need to charge the tracker once in seven days.
In terms of fitness tracking, the Vivosmart 5 is as capable as some of the smartwatches from Garmin. It can track a whole host of sports and activities, in addition to monitoring heart-rate, stress, hydration, sleep, women's health, and blood oxygen levels.
The built-in GPS is a boon for runners as it allows the band to accurately track distance, speed, and steps. Lastly, Garmin says that the Vivosmart 5 is swim and shower proof.
The Garmin Vivosmart 5 is priced at ₹14,990, and will be available on various platforms starting tomorrow.
