While the weather may not be getting much cooler here in Mumbai just yet, Microsoft has decided that it is winter and with winter, comes the Winter Update to Halo Infinite. This will be the largest feature update to both the game’s campaign and free-to-play multiplayer since its launch. It all begins today.

What does the update entail, you ask? Well beginning today, players can jump into the long-awaited host of experiences like the Forge Beta, Campaign Network Co-Op, and Mission Replay, unlock rewards from the free 30-tier Battle Pass.

For those of you still oblivious to what any of this means, Forge Beta is a Halo classic. The creation tool is back and more powerful than ever before with a vast suite of additions and improvements to empower community cartographers with advanced and accessible tools. This Forge Beta will launch alongside six canvas maps, a new visual scripting engine, object scaling and bot support. Additionally, there will be huge budget increases, file-sharing capabilities, and other cool features to help you create and share your maps, modes, and prefabs.

Match XP and the New Battle Pass will help evolve Halo Infinite’s progression experience with Match XP Beta. Utilizing the player feedback, Match XP rewards players for completing matches, with additional XP for performance. There will also be new Multiplayer Maps – Argyle and Detachment, both built entirely within Forge.

If you are the kind who doesn’t like playing alone, you can hop in with three of your friends to experience the campaign together, thanks to the Campaign Network Co-Op and Mission Replay. The cross-play feature is supported across all Xbox devices and PC, and progress and unlocks are shared across all players – so everyone benefits! So get into the winter spirit and hop on the update wagon.
