You may recall the Insta360 One RS 1-inch sensor camera with 360-degree image technology. The company has decided to take a step in another direction – webcams. The Insta360 Link (₹31,000 approx) comes with some high-end specs.
Equipped with a 1/2in sensor, the cam captures and streams 4K footage at up to 30fps, or 1080p footage at up to 60fps, ideal if you are more focused on smoothness instead of raw detail. With a convenient design, the cam comes with a built-in clip to secure it onto your monitor, a lens that can rotate into portrait mode for all you influencers and of course, a standard tripod mount on the bottom to let you customise angles based on your need.
The webcam comes equipped with features like phase-detection autofocus, dual noise-cancelling microphones, HDR (for which you will have a drop to 1080p or 720p resolution and a 30fps or lower rate), and best of all, a 3-axis gimbal to keep itself steady. At just 106g, it manages to pack in quite a bit, while fitting into the palm of your hand.
But the real beauty lies in the AI-assisted software features. It is capable of tracking the user’s movements, keeping them centred at all times and automatically framing and zooming as necessary. Gesture controls make an appearance too alongside a variety of special modes like DeskView (toggling between a user’s face and their desktop) and Whiteboard Mode (which zooms in on and enhances a designated area to share with a meeting’s participants). Last and most importantly, the camera is compatible with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Skype, and has been designed with gaming streamers in mind.
