Apple has been the long standing dominant force in the tab space with its iPad lineup, but despite having a powerful Intel-rivalling M1 chip, Android competitors are rapidly closing in.

The iPad's software is in urgent need of an update, and it's about time for more advanced features, as many complain that the M1 chip cannot be used to its full potential because of the tablets' iPadOS operating system. The masses of users want slates that can provide Mac-like multitasking. It seems like Apple has finally heard all the pleas.

As per Bloomberg, Apple is set to give iPadOS a redesigned multitasking interface which would make it easier to see which applications are open and switch between tasks.

Inching closer to a laptop and further from a smartphone, this new version will reportedly also allow users to resize app windows and will also offer new ways for handling multiple apps simultaneously.

This revamped iPad interface is rumoured to be leaps ahead of the current interface that enables you to either run apps in a full-screen view on the iPad or run two apps side by side and can also launch a scaled-down version of a third app. So expect big changes headed your way, and it is all likely to be announced at WWDC 2022 next week.
