There’s a new robot vacuum in town to give your maid a run for their money. iRobot’s new Roomba j7+ is powered by the iRobot OS, and comes with a host of features like Quiet Drive, Do Not Disturb, Child & Pet Lock, Cleaning Time Estimates, and the most loved feature of only having to replace the bag every 60 days. Despite this being a smart robot vacuum cleaner, it is surprising that iRobot didn’t include wet mopping here, which is essential to the dusty floors of the average Indian household.
That being said, there is still a lot to appreciate. The Roomba j7+ detects obstacles, beyond just walls and furniture such as cords, headphones, shoes, socks and avoids them while cleaning. If it identifies a hazard of some kind, it will send a photo to you on the iRobot Home App where you can instruct the robot to either avoid or clean around it.
With Imprint Smart Mapping, the device automatically learns a floor plan and allows you to pick a specific room or schedule for cleaning, using the app or voice assistant device. Additionally it provides you with personalised suggestions based on what it learns such as more frequent cleaning during allergy or pet shedding season.
The iRobot Roomba j7+ with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal is available for ₹74,900.
