We’ve seen Starry Night take on its Lego form and now it’s time for another iconic work of Art to make its way into our homes. The first expansion to Lego’s Art lineup for 2023 will be The Hokusai: The Great Wave, a Japanese masterpiece. The painting has been broken down into 1,810 pieces to allow you to build the mosaic kit with your dextrous Lego fingies.
At nearly 21 inches wide, the set will enable you to create a somewhat 3D version of the artwork to frame in your homes. It is way more detailed than the average mosaics you’ve seen and you will see the Great Wave reimagined like never before. To fit with the more traditional style of The Great Wave, the Hokusai will be surrounded by a white border as well as a tan frame, setting it apart from the usual Lego mosaics that sport all kinds of black designs. This subtle change really takes us back to the 1830s style and theme for the painting’s brick debut.
The set will launch in January 2023 and is set to join the rest of the 2023 LEGO winter lineup. The kit will be priced at $99.99 (₹8,200 approx.) and will set the Art lineup into motion. So channel your inner artist and get to work on your own iconic masterpiece.
