Apple users can record Apple ProRes 4K video at up to 60 fps directly onto it

Lexar has introduced its thinnest external SSD yet, the SL500 Portable SSD. Tailored for filmmakers, photographers, content creators, and gamers, the SL500 measures 4.8mm thick and is only slightly larger than a credit card, according to the brand. Its aluminium unibody design adds a premium touch and offers heat resistance.

The SL500 Portable SSD is built on USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 tech, delivering read speeds of up to 2000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800 MB/s. A standout feature is its integration with Apple devices. With the Lexar magnetic kit, Apple users can record Apple ProRes 4K video at up to 60 frames per second directly onto the SL500.

The drive also offers broad compatibility, working with Windows PCs, Macs, Android smartphones, gaming consoles, and cameras. For added security, it features 256-bit AES encryption via Lexar’s DataShield software, ensuring sensitive files remain safeguarded.

As for pricing, the SL500 is available in two capacities – the 1TB variant is priced at a price of ₹13,000, while the 2TB version comes in at ₹25,000.
