There’s nothing new about active noise cancellation any more, but when a brand that has literally built its reputation on TWS earpieces launches its first model in 2022, it serves as reason enough to sit up and take notice. The PurePlay Z5 is Lypertek’s version of a TWS ANC that is affordable and effective.
It features an Auto Ambient mode that will amplify ambient noises and conversations automatically, without you having to take the earbuds off. We have seen it on more expensive models from brands like Shure and Sony, but at Lypertek’s potential price point, it is an impressive feature to have.
10mm drivers and Bluetooth 5.2 with AptX and AptX Adaptive make sure the sound quality is decent too, but we’ll have to pop these in to offer a full verdict. Lypertek Definition Expander or LDX Audio Mode is also on offer to help you choose from different sound profiles, should you not wish to play around with manual EQ curves. Battery life seems generous with 7 hours from the earbuds and another whopping 28 hours from the charging case!
The PurePlay Z5 will come with three different eartip options to fit all sorts of ears and they’re also made from different materials, depending on your preference. PurePower tips use thick silicon and PureSpace tips use a thinner one, while PureComfort uses high-density foam. Each one offers a different flavour of fit and sound, so have fun experimenting.
