Ever wondered what premium pen makers and premium car makers can come together to birth? That’s an easy guess… a pen that costs more than the average Indian road car. You read that right! Montblanc and Ferrari have reunited to design a pen that costs $27,000 (₹22 lakh approx.) and is inspired by the Daytona SP3.
While the pair have collaborated in the past and Montblanc's previous Enzo Ferrari-inspired capsule was enough to satisfy many, the luxury label's latest product is genuinely unlike any pen we've seen so far — at least any Ferrari-themed pen.
This intriguing pen has tried to encapsulate Ferrari’s signature design language and philosophy from car to writing instrument. While that might seem rather complex to pull off on a 5in piece of metal, if anyone can, it’s probably Montblanc. So what makes this pen embody the spirit of a Ferrari you ask? It has a one-of-a-kind red blade that shields the pen’s filling mechanism which should translate to the car’s sleek, angular look on this writing device.
The Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 features a handcrafted Au 750 solid white gold nib and a hidden fill-in mechanism to hold ink discreetly. To recognise the collaborative effort, an SP3 engraving highlights this luxurious nib, while Ferrari's unmistakable Prancing Horse logo is layered on the cap. In ode to the iconic Daytona SP3, the pen will be limited to 599 pieces worldwide. When it comes to ‘limited edition’ things you know one thing is for certain…it ain’t going to be cheap. So if you fancy making a sizable dent in your dream Ferrari fund, this is one way to go!
