This time with a soundbar, of course

If you’re an 80s child, chances are you know this legendary Japanese brand for its cassette decks. The digital era wasn’t very kind on Nakamichi but it has been making some pretty interesting soundbars for the past few years under the Shockwafe moniker. This latest update though brings new speaker drivers, higher output drivers and dual 10in active subs to its flagship model, the Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 eARC.

As is evident by the model name, it comes with the new HDMI eARC connectivity for higher resolution audio and video pass-through to a TV. It is also the world’s first soundbar to feature Qualcomm’s AptX HD for a hi-res wireless stream from Bluetooth 5.0 devices.

The Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 also features Spatial Surround Elevation (SSE) Max Surround Processing Technology, which basically is the combined tuning of the hardware and software to enable a more immersive listening experience. The quad modular surround speakers also do their bit in not leaving anything to chance.
