We may not realise it quite often but being able to personalise the web experience through AI makes our life quite sorted. Imagine how you feel when by mistake you log in to one of the numerous other profiles on your streaming account, like you have entered Martian land, right? It is because you don’t get to see your usual content, the shows you watch or would like to watch. The immediate reaction then is to log out considering it a gaffe and log in to your own profile without wasting a moment. Now imagine, how would it feel if you lose your profile all-together, the recommendations, viewing history, the lists and even saved games? Scary, right?
To ensure this situation never comes to pass, Netflix has introduced a new Profile Transfer feature that lets users transfer an existing profile to a new account. The novel feature will help those using your profile for years but now for once wish to have their own.
Along with all viewing details and recommendations, all saved games and game progress connected to a profile will also move to the new account. However, the feature won’t apply to Children's and PIN-protected profiles.
This feature will automatically be enabled from the end of the month, October 2022. If you wish to disable it, you can turn off the ‘profile transfer’ option on your account. Unless this is turned off, anyone with access to the account will be able to transfer an already existing profile to a new account. The setting can be changed several times.
