For every audiophile who appreciates the build and quality of a Japanese-made machine, there are those die-hard fans of German technology and machinery. If you happen to lean towards the precision German way, Neumann.Berlin has just launched the NDH 30 open-back headphone in India. Capable of reproducing the linear sound image of a Neumann loudspeaker setup, the NDH 30 is perfectly calibrated via MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment for a more convenient, portable format.
Retaining the high-quality metal construction of the closed-back NDH 20, this headset is more than just an open-back version of its predecessor. The NDH 30 is an open-back headphone, which means that its dynamic 38mm transducers work as acoustic dipoles. This allows their highly refined sound characteristics to unfold optimally: extremely fast transient response, dry bass, uncolored mids and transparent highs. You can expect extremely low levels of harmonic distortion, courtesy of the frequency selective absorbers. It has a very even sound response across the whole audio spectrum, Neumann claims.
If you are the kind to get lost in the rhythm and beat for hours on end, the large, soft earpads will provide just the comfort you require. It is also foldable and easily portable making it the perfect alternative to the Neumann KH line loudspeaker setup at a pinch. Its spatial resolution is perfect for those who create binaural mixes of immersive content, including gaming and VR. The headset will be available for ₹52,900 (pretty cheap for the average audiophile!)
