While most of us are Ice Age fans, it seems Ola Electric is most definitely not an ICE-age fan. While the brand is talking about Internal Combustion Engines and not just a beloved film series, they have taken drastic measures to help aid the cause. The most recent step takes the form of the S1 Air.
This electric scooter is the newest addition to the S1 portfolio and brings affordable eco-friendly solutions to the masses. Retaining the S1 design, Ola has re-engineered the powertrain as well as the battery pack. Now equipped with a 2.5KWh battery pack and a 4.5KW hub motor, the scooter offers a 100km range (in eco mode) and can do 0-40 in just 4.3 seconds. It is definitely zippy thanks to its 99kg weight, perfect for the urban lifestyle.
The scooter will also see the brand’s third software upgrade within the last three months. The software has been dubbed MoveOS 3 and offers 20 new features and a slew of new improvements including Proximity Unlock, Party Mode, Moods and compatibility with Ola’s Hypercharger network.
These Ola Hyperchargers enable users to charge their scooters up to 50km in 15 minutes, at a charging speed of 3km per minute. The updates yet in store for the users are likely to offer features such as Hill Hold, Profiles and Vacation Mode amongst many others. The MoveOS 3 beta version will be open to all Ola S1 owners starting October 25th and the public rollout will take place later, this December.
The Ola S1 Air will be priced starting at ₹79,999 and will be available in five colour variants– Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black and Liquid Silver. So do your bit for the environment and zip around the city on this convenient piece of engineering.
