A family in Bengaluru, India is probably e-scooter maker Ather's biggest set of fans, seeing as how they own a total of 20 Ather scooters. The Kothari family has three generations of riders for their 20 Ather scooters, from Mahendra Kothari (61) to Pragya Kothari (19), with members of the family having owned Ather scooters since 2017. The family currently owns various Ather models - primarily the 450 series - as well as Ather's more specialised offerings such as the 450 Apex and Rizta.

The Kothari family got onto the Ather brand after Bharat Kothari pre-booked the Ather 450 series scooter in 2017 ahead of its launch in 2018 - well before electric scooters started gaining popularity and other brands entered the market. Other members of the family followed Bharat to purchase and use their own Ather scooters in due course, growing to its current count of 20 electric scooters in the family. The story of the family was recently posted by Ather co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta on X.

The family has stated that they intend to add to their Ather collection, as younger members of the family grow older and are able to start riding. Ather currently has three scooter series on offer in India - the 450 series (comprising of the 450S and 450X, the performance-focused 450 Apex, and the practicality-focused Ather Rizta. These are offered in different battery capacities, ranging from 2.9kWh to 3.7kWh.
