OnePlus has dropped a sneak peek of their new OnePlus 12R design. It's got a similar vibe to the OnePlus 12 and is going to be the second phone from the OnePlus 12 series. Both the smartphones are hitting the global market on January 23 at the OnePlus ‘Smooth Beyond Belief Launch Event’ scheduled at 7:30pm IST.
The company defines the OnePlus R series smartphones as “performance-focused flagships,” that offer the “best mobile gaming experience,” at a wallet-friendly price. OnePlus plans to launch the 12R in two colours—Cool Blue with a glossy finish and Iron Gray with a matte vibe. Plus, they're rolling out a new built-in antenna system that is said to take your gaming experience to a next level.
Official renders confirm that the OnePlus 12R sports a metal frame, a significant improvement from the OnePlus 11R's plastic frame. On the back, it has a circular camera island. As per Max Jambor's post on X, the phone will have a 6.78-inch LTPO screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, pack a 5,500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging, and house a triple camera setup, including a powerful 50 MP primary shooter.
Other leaks suggest that the OnePlus 12R might run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the same chip found in the OnePlus 11. Anticipated to maintain a comparable price to the OnePlus 11R, the OnePlus 12R is expected to be priced at approximately ₹40,000 for the base model, equipped with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
