Nintendo may be slacking off with their Pokemon games on the Switch, but Niantic wants to spread the joy of catching Pokémons to every corner of this country. Between December 15 2021 and February 2, 2022, there will be 5,00,000 more PokéStops and Gyms across India.

There will also be Powered-Up PokéStops that will reward trainers in exchange for submitting AR scans of the area. The key states include Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Kerala, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and more. The update will be deployed in batches of three over the three months. The inclusion of more towns and cities in India will mean that your yearly trips across the country might surprise you with new Pokémons.
