One of the advantages of wearing a mask is that you can hide your emotions. But at CES 2022, Qudi debuted what it calls the world’s first emotional LED mask, which seems like a nightmare for introverts.
The ensemble includes a translucent eyeglass, and a mouth cover that features 199 smart LEDs. The latter is the highlight of the mask, and these LED pixels combine to show different emotions ranging from smiling, shocked, confused, angry, and even a cat face. The display also reacts to your head nodding when wanting to say yes or no.
Additionally, there’s also a built-in equaliser mode, where the display responds to the music you’re listening to. There are 12 different animations for your music choice, and they can all be controlled via the Qudi smartphone app.
While it may sound like it, this isn’t a concept, but a real thing. It is available in the US for $289 (approx ₹21,300).
