Mid-segment smartphones constitute a major part of the market because the most number of takers are in this price range. Redmi Note series has almost always done well in under the ₹20K price segment but now there are three options with varying prices. The Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. The names may seem the same but features vary.
The star child is the Note 12 Pro+ 5G which comes with the 200-megapixel pro-grade HPX Sensor. The Note 12 Pro 5G, on the other hand, comes with the Sony IMX 766 50-megapixel main sensor along with optical image stabilization (OIS) for better low-light performance and steady videos. Both the Pro phones come with 8-megapixel ultrawide sensors with a field of view of 120 degrees.
Moving on to display and processors, both the Pro versions come with 6.67in FullHD+ Pro AMOLED displays with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. 10-bit Pro AMOLED displays lend the devices more than a billion colours, with HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. There are also dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res audio certification.
Under the hood, both the Pro versions have MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processors with a clock speed of 2.6GHz. The Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes with a 4980mAh battery while the Note 12 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh battery. For charging, Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes with a 120W and Note 12 Pro 5G packs in a 67W charger.
Now, the basic Redmi Note 12 5G, this version features a 6.67in FullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 900 nits. The phone comes with a triple camera set-up, featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor, and also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The brand claims that the Redmi Note 12 5G is also the first Redmi Note to be powered by the new Snapdragon 4 Generation 1 chip. The phone packs in a large 5000mAh battery and has a 33W charger.
As for price, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes at a starting price of ₹29,999, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G will be available for ₹24,999 and Redmi Note 12 5G starts at ₹17,999.
