Snapchat has been this generation’s companion through all the ups and downs from the days of dog filters and flower crowns to their angsty teenage years. Well today, the app itself is growing up with the launch of Snapchat+ for the Indian Snapchatter community. Available for ₹49 per month, the app will offer a collection of exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features.
The first of the six features is Snapchat+ Badge. This is a special star designation to indicate which users are subscribers. This is off by default and can be turned on if you wish to flaunt your subscription. The second feature is the custom app icons. This feature allows you to change your home screen Snapchat App icon and customize its look, depending on your home screen aesthetic. The next interesting perk for subscribers is a rewatch indicator which allows you to see how many people are rewatching your story (for all of you who are repeatedly watching your secret crushes, don't worry, they don't know who is specifically rewatching the story.)
It doesn't stop there, the Best Friends Forever feature allows you to pin one friend as your number one best friend, letting you flaunt your friendship. Ghost Trails on Snap Map and Solar System will allow Snapchatters to customize their Snapchat experiences to enhance the parts of Snapchat they use the most. The next feature may seem a tad creepy at first, but it's more of a safety measure for your friends. It is the Ghost Trails on Snap Map which shows the general direction of travel for where your friends have moved recently (only if they have explicitly agreed to share their location).
Last up is the Solar System feature since supposedly “Your friends are your universe”. This adds a special badge to a Friendship Profile. To enable these premium features, you can tap Snapchat+ on your Snapchat profile to get started. The app will continue to roll out new features and updates in due time, so stay tuned.
