It’s a little known fact that before they came up with their loudspeakers, Sonus Faber made something called The Snail. The Omnia isn’t that outlandish and neither does it have an equally outlandish price tag in terms of hi-fi audio. Launched at $1999 (₹1,50,000) it is on par with the rest of the competition such as the Naim Muso and others. The Omnia (prepared in all things in Latin) stays true to its name and features DLNA, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, aptX HD Bluetooth, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect along with physical connections that include an HDMI ARC socket and a line-level and phono adapter dongle. What makes the Omnia sing are seven drivers – two silk dome tweeters, two paper pulp cone midrange drivers, a long-throw aluminium cone woofer and two side-firing cellulose pulp membrane drivers – powered by 490 watts of amplification. All of this is processed by the brand’s Crescendo processing tech that manipulates the phasing of the drivers to create a more wide and immersive sound stage.
