Wouldn’t it be nice to let someone know you appreciate their taste in music? After all, it is the highest compliment one can offer. Well, Spotify is believed to be working on a new feature to let you do just that. It is an in-app audio reaction feature that allows you to upload content to the platform as a podcast.
It seems to still be in the experimental stage, but essentially it allows you to record a small message or episode to share your feelings with the maker of the playlist, via a small microphone icon. If you aren’t a big fan of your voice of recordings (honestly, who is), you can also use some of the simple editing options, to add background music and tags.
Reportedly, the reaction feature is accessible via the microphone icon on the playlist's page. But so far everything is quite hush hush from the official sources. All that has been said is that they are running a limited test of in-app audio creation. In addition to all this, Spotify is believed to be experimenting with allowing users to record and post podcasts directly from the app, which could be game-changing for smaller original artists.
Recently, the music streaming giant introduced a new homepage design for the mobile app that features feeds for Shows and Podcasts, as well as Music. The feature is being rolled out on Android, and iOS is next up. The Music feed shouldn’t be too different from what we have had in the past, with quick access to suggestions based on their music taste. There will additionally be album and playlist recommendations, as well as buttons that make it easy to share, like, and instantly play music. The Podcast and Shows feed will enable listeners to head directly to new episodes of their favourite shows.
So keep an eye out for these new changes headed your way, especially if you are looking to create some original content or simply appreciate others’.
