Tata's rather popular Nexon EV gets a brand new look, with the launch of the Red Dark Edition. Priced at Rs. 17,19,000 (ex-showroom), the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition is the top-of-the-line variant for the car, and also features the new 45kWh battery pack which has recently been introduced for the Nexon EV line. The Red Dark Edition features an all-black exterior, which covers not only the body but also the wheels, logos, and monograms. As the name suggests, the interior gets a major splash of red for the seat upholstery and other elements on the dashboard.
Apart from the obvious aesthetic appeal of the colour, the Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition (and other 45kWh battery variants of the car) also gets a panoramic sunroof, and the infotainment system gets a special dark colour theme that matches the overall look and feel. Understandably, the 45kWh battery on the new Nexon EV variants comes with a rated driving range of 489km per charge, or around 350-370km of real-world range as per Tata.
Another feature worth mentioning on the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition is bi-directional charging, which lets you charge other EVs or devices such as air conditioners or small refrigerators using your own battery reserves. This might sound strange, but it might actually come in handy on camping trips or when you have a power outage at home. Features such as the JBL 9-speaker system and 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system from Harman are also present on the Red Dark Edition.
The Tata Nexon EV 45 lineup starts at Rs. 13,99,000 (ex-showroom), and supports 60kW DC fast charging which can get the car from 10-80 percent in 40 minutes. The Red Dark Edition is available now at Tata Motors dealerships across India.
