It's fair to assume that a lot of you have made the switch from Android to iOS at some point in the past (unless of course, you were one of the day-one users who switched straight to Apple from the Nokia brick). Though it can be a pretty complex switch of interface and platform, the transition has eased up significantly over the decade for all but WhatsApp. The tedious task of transferring data from one device to another across the operating systems has often left users having to start all over. Well thankfully no more!
WhatsApp has finally sorted out the major issue of chat migration by giving users the ability to transfer chats between Android and iOS. Although initially limited to a few users, this functionality is now available for all Android and iOS users who are switching ecosystems and want to keep their WhatsApp data backed and intact.
To move your entire chat history from Android to iOS and vice versa, you just need to take a few simple steps. To transfer the chats from Android to iPhone, all you need to do is download the Move to iOS app, on phones running Android 5 and above, and an iPhone running iOS 15.5 and above. These devices also need to be running WhatsApp versions 2.22.10.70 or above (iOS) and 2.22.7.74 or above (Android).
When you can use the app to transfer WhatsApp as well as other app data as smoothly as possible. (Just don’t forget to keep the devices plugged in to avoid disasters). On the other hand, if you want to transfer chats from iPhone to Android, you will need to use a Lightning to USB-C cable to connect both the phones, scan the QR code and follow the on-screen instructions. Within a few minutes, the process should be completed.
