It seems all phones today are clones of each other. Black panels often confused with one another. Stepping into this monotone world is New York-based artist Daniel Arsham who has collaborated with Xiaomi on the 12T to bring the Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition. This iconic work of art is said to be the intersection of the past, present and future within a contemporary artifact.
The artist has attempted to create the textures of his sculptural propositions of obsolescence and natural erosions on a smartphone. In layman's terms, it's a pretty blob of nature’s most potent colours. It is definitely a unique, eye-catching piece that comes in a special box which is what you would imagine a sculpture would be. From the weight to every detail, the box was created to stand the test of time.
The custom-made gyroscopic wallpapers are an extension of his theme of erosion. Crystals, volcanic ash and selenite bronze move when the phone moves. Each tilt allows for more glimpses at marks of time. It is rounded off by a full set of app filters to keep the experience seamless.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition is priced at $990 (₹ 76,702 approx.) and will be limited to just 2000 pieces. So if this is what you need to bring the theatrics to your palm, act fast!
