In a move that’s starting to seem almost deviously planned, we see yet another brand launch its foldable phone today. This time it's Xiaomi with the Mix Fold 2. The company has worked with Leica to engineer this phone and it is all set to hop into the arena with the rest of the contenders.

The outer part sports a 6.56in AMOLED display with 21:9 aspect ratio, while the inner part has an 8.02in 2k resolution display with LTPO 2.0 technology. Both the inner and outer screens come with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness. Additionally, they have support for Dolby Vision and dual ambient light sensors. The screens have been made using ultra-thin glass and Eco² OLED display technology that helps save 25% more power.

To achieve its folding nature, Xiaomi has used a custom hinge mechanism and a durable MIM alloy to build the phone. They have used weldless unibody technology and have used carbon fibre hinge plates, alongside a more compact layered design.

On the inside, this phone packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset alongside a high-performance cooling system to keep the temperatures in check. The phone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W turbo charging.

When it comes to the cameras, Leica steps into the spotlight. With a triple camera setup on the rear, it includes a 50MP IMX766 primary sensor alongside a 13MP Ultra-wide and 8MP Telephoto lens. The setup comes with an SMA actuator for OIS support. The phone can take videos in up to 8K resolution too.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has been launched with a starting price of ¥8,999 (roughly ₹1,06,000). So now that you are flooded with choices in this market, it's up to you to decide where your allegiance lies.
