With the FIFA World Cup just around the corner, it is time for you to get amped up and decide where your loyalties lie. Adidas is making it a lot easier for you to put your passion on display with the new Home and Away kits designed for five national teams – Argentina, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Spain.
Every kit has been designed to capture and express the spirit of the nation it represents with various aspects of the culture imbibed into the clothes, whether it is the origami-inspired Japanese kit or Mixtec art-inspired Mexican kit. It is 2022, so you bet sustainability and performance go hand in hand, in the design and materials used. All the kits have been made using 100% recycled polyester, and contain 50% Parley Ocean Plastic.
It doesn't end with the jerseys. The federation kit includes several products including shorts, training pants, presentation pants, travel pants, presentation jackets, travel jackets, anthem jackets, training tops, beanies, scarfs, backpacks and footballs, with prices ranging between ₹1,799 and ₹13,999.
So what do the kits look like? The Argentinian kit has vibrant purple hues, representing gender equality in its quest for a more equal world. This is paired with fiery graphics, an ode to the national flag’s iconic Sun of May. The German kit sports bold vertical black and white stripes and had a detailed gold emblem. There are touches of the flag around the collar and shirt bindings too. The Japanese home kit is inspired by a three-legged-crow design, while the away jersey has blurred graphics.
The Mexican kit pays homage to the ancient civilisations sporting Mixtec art. While the Spanish kit makes a timeless statement with the famous deep red colour with aspects of the flag around the collar and shirt bindings. All the kits will be debuted by the men and women at the upcoming matches and are available at Adidas stores.
