Asus ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate ditches Snapdragon for MediaTek

Gaming focused on an iPhone budget

The Asus ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition ain’t the only trick the brand has up its sleeve today. The company has launched the newest descendants of the Phone 6 and this time they are dubbed the ROG Phone 6D and Phone 6D Ultimate. While the features are largely along the same lines, these newer models will run on the Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ instead of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The Phone 6D sports a 6.78in FHD+ AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate and support for HDR10+ playback and 10-bit colour. The top-of-the-line MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ clocks in at 3.2Ghz and is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The ROG Phone 6D offers 256GB of internal storage while the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate provides 512GB. The camera has remained the same as its predecessor with a 50MP 1/1.56in primary sensor alongside a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro shooter. Up front, there is a 12MP camera.

While the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate are essentially the same phones, the    6D has an RGB light logo, while the Ultimate sports a PMOLED ROG Vision like the older models. That said, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate also has an AeroActive Portal on the back, which is built to work in tandem with the AeroActive Cooler 6, offering impressive cooling for those intense sessions of gameplay.

The Asus ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate are priced at £799 (about ₹72,490) and £1,199 (about ₹1,08,780), respectively in the UK. The AeroActive Cooler 6 comes bundled with the 6D Ultimate but you have the option of buying it separately for £89 (₹8,076 approx). So, go ahead and get gaming!
