All you pro-gamers out there are more than familiar with Asus ROG’s Strix Scar 17 PCs. Well, prepare for some upgrades with the launch of its long-awaited Special Edition (SE) in India. This model will bring upgrades to both performance and cooling. Equipped with the new top-of-the-line Intel 12th gen Core i9 HX series of processors.
Priced at a jaw-dropping yet predictable ₹3,59,000, the PC features over-the-top 16 cores, 24 threads, and boost clocks of up to 5GHz. For graphics, the device packs in an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU. On the cooling front, Asus has used Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal for both the CPU and GPU, which boasts to keep the components up to 15°C cooler than traditional thermal pastes.
The Strix Scar 17 SE has great aesthetic value too, with an additional easter egg to add to their tech. They have used specially developed covert invisible ink to last long when applied to the metal lid. That said, the beauty truly lies in the 17.3in QHD panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. The ultra-fast panel has options for every scenario, ensuring you never miss a moment (unless you blink). It even has 3ms response times to add to the mix.
There is a MUX Switch which reduces latencies and improves performance by up to 10%. It bypasses the more traditional methods of an integrated GPU connection with the internal display. This has been achieved by connecting the dedicated GPU directly with the display for unrestricted performance. The keyboard switches are rated to last over 20 million presses and the WASD keys are durable enough to survive all your bashing. It also sports per-key lighting which helps you customize your lighting layouts via Aura Sync.
Lastly, to support the great visuals, the PC packs in Dolby Atmos-powered quad speakers to create an immersive experience for your games. The two tweeters and two woofers are powered by Smart Amp and the whole setup delivers more balanced, multidimensional audio across the full spectrum without losing clarity or detail.
