BMW is back with the launch of the X7 facelift starting at a cool ₹1.22 crore for the xDrive40i petrol and going up to ₹1.25 crore for the xDrive40d diesel version. Both models will come equipped with the M Sport package as standard. This will become the only three-row luxury SUV offering from BMW and will sport a reprofiled front end with more power from the updated engines. The sleek new model will feature a revised cabin as well.
So what makes this facelift so beautiful you ask? Updated 3.0-litre, inline-six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines make an appearance. The new petrol engine generates an additional 41 horsepower and 70 Nm over the outgoing one, for a total output of 381 horsepower and 520 Nm, thanks to the 48V mild-hybrid system. The luxury SUV's claimed 0-100kph acceleration time with this petrol engine is 5.8 seconds.
The mild-hybrid diesel engine on the updated X7 xDrive40d produces 340 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 75 horsepower and 80 ft-lb over the previous model. According to claims, the SUV's diesel version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Both engines have been paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and also feature adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled dampers as standard.
When it comes to design, the facelifted X7 sees a redesigned front end with split LED headlights and a cascade lighting component built into the kidney grille. The new electric i7 car and 7 Series both display this new design philosophy. The LED DRLs at the bonnet line, the silver trim on the front and rear bumpers, the 20in alloy wheels that come standard, and the chrome strip that joins the reprofiled LED taillights are some further aesthetic highlights of the facelifted X7.
Now for what we here at Stuff are most fond of, the interior. This too has been redesigned by BMW and now includes a new selector lever and an instrument cluster with narrow air vents. BMW's most recent curved infotainment screen includes a 14.9in touchscreen that runs the most recent iDrive 8 software. The 12.3in digital instrument cluster makes an appearance too, similar to those seen previously seen on the iX, facelifted 3 Series Gran Limousine, and X7 facelift.
A 14-colour ambient light bar, four-zone automated climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, a voice assistant system, and upgraded ADAS technology are among the amenities offered by the luxury SUV, making it truly worth those big bucks!
