Canon Selphy CP1500 lets you print your selfie

Share your joy with the generations to come…

What is the point of taking the perfect photograph if it gets lost in your massive phone storage until it’s forever forgotten? You can now just print the memory in that very moment, giving it a permanent physical form (unless you are clumsy of course). The Canon Selphy CP1500 does just that.

The light, wireless, compact and easily portable printer allows you to print personalized, high-quality images, wherever you are. Available in two variants, black and white, the printer looks like a miniaturized version of Canon printers and can shoot out colourful images at the click of a button. The printer makes use of dye-sublimation technology, enabling smoother colour tones and richer gradations. It even uses an automatic correction function to adjust the brightness, saturation, contrast and tones in images for a better and clearer finish.

Canon has already realized we aren't as careful as the previous generations and has used a special overcoat finish to protect the photo from water, dirt, colour fading and even fingerprints. They believe the photo will last 100 years in an album (but we probably won’t be alive to fact-check this). You can even customize and decorate your image on the Selphy Photo Layout smartphone app and even add a QR code. The code can be linked to a photo album, a video, an online map with the photo location or even a secret message!

You can operate the printer easily by connecting through Wi-Fi or a USB Type-C cable to print images from your smartphone, camera or computer. You can even just insert an SD card directly into the machine. Postcard-sized prints take approximately 41 seconds while card-size prints can be made in just around 23 seconds, speedy enough to keep even the most impatient souls happy. The printer will be available starting this September, priced at ₹11,995.
