While time doesn’t hold much value in the Mushroom Kingdom (unless you are Karting), it is very much a chronic problem for us Indians. It seems the timekeeper’s world is obsessed with SuperMario these days (as they should be) and has brought yet another Mario-themed wrist piece. Following in the footsteps of Tag Heuer, Casio’s G-Shock brings the newest Mario-themed limited edition watch.
It no longer matters if you have the fashion sense of Luigi, Bowser or Yoshi, strap one of these on and you’ll be the ultimate Cassanova in the nerd world. That said, this isn’t a smartwatch, just the plain simple digital watch with a stopwatch, countdown timer and multi-function alarm, so don’t expect anything too fancy.
It does, however, offer shock resistance and is waterproof down to 200m, so it will survive a few battles, even if you are being struck by lightning bolts or being hit by rogue shells. Better still, there is a Mario silhouette built into the backlight so it looks like he’s jumping the green shell underneath the display when you turn it on.
The watch is priced at around ₹15,000 and offers a two-year battery life, so who knows there might even be a new Mario game or you may attract the love of your life by the time it dies.
