Discord support joins the Xbox November update!

There’s a bunch headed your way…

In a recent blog post, Xbox announced that the official November update will be going live today. What does the update entail? Much to the glee of the users, we will be getting official support for Discord and streaming support for Streamlabs and Lightstream. In addition to a host of other features, there will also be support for the new Capture app.

Bringing Discord support to Xbox means starting today, you can now conveniently join voice channels right from your console. To get started, simply open the guide, scroll to Parties & chats, and select Discord. Then scroll through your available Discord servers and pick the voice channel of your choosing. You’ll be able to see a preview of your friends who are in a Discord server and voice channel before you join so that there are no unwelcome surprises!

When it comes to streaming services, Xbox integrates directly with Lightstream and Streamlabs joins Twitch so users can stream straight from the console. Unfortunately, Youtube still hasn’t made the list.  So to get started you just need to open the guide and go to Capture & share > Live streaming > More options. Scroll down to Destination to stream from the Twitch, Lightstream, or Streamlabs Studio apps, as you choose.

Thanks to the newly integrated streaming experiences, the Twitch app on Xbox consoles will now be dedicated to viewing only. Other updates include noise suppression in Discord Voice on Xbox Series X|S, wish list gifting and sale notifications – Microsoft Store on Xbox, enhanced power options and customization and a redesigned Xbox Assist as Xbox Support. The update is out now for all Xbox users.
