Extreme weather like rain and snow aren’t the most ideal conditions for flying a drone. That is unless you’re flying DJI’s brand-new Matrice 30 – an industry-grade enterprise drone that is built to survive “heavy rain, high winds, high altitudes, even in icy and snowy conditions from -20° C to 50° C”.
The M30 may be an industrial drone, but it has all the best features of Mavic series – portability, folding arms, and small enough to fit into a dedicated case. The M30 series includes two models – M30 and M30T. The former comes with a 48MP camera with up to 16x optical zoom, 200x digital zoom, and a 12MP wide-angle camera along with a laser rangefinder for finding the precise coordinates of a subject at up to 1,200 metres. The M30T has the same camera config in addition to a radiometric thermal camera.
As per DJI, the M30 drones have a flight-time of up to 41 minutes, which may not sound a lot. But when they need to juice up, there’s now a new robotic charging dock. The DJI Dock, as it is known, supports fast-charging, has an internal battery pack, and supports a 4G dongle.
Prices for the DJI M30 start from $9,999 (approx ₹7,62,300) for the entire package, and go above $13,999 (approx ₹10,67,300) for the M30T.
